Quick Eye Bio
Growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, Kitten Rose, or 'Quick Eye' has had a passion for photography since the age of 11. Her Pop was her biggest influence growing up, as he was always capturing moments on film. Eventually, he gave her a 110 film 'spy camera', which inspired Quick Eye to adopt Candid photography. This launched her interest in people-watching and capturing life in its most authentic moments.
This little camera was used throughout middle school and most of High School until it finally broke. This was considered an emergency at the time, as Photography was a daily endeavor for Quick Eye. A friend loaned Quick Eye a film format digital camera with a toggle switch to make photos three different sizes: 4x6”, 5x7”, and panoramic 4x11”. This gave her the ability to capture full sunrises, sunsets, experiment with macro photography, and posed/ unposed shots of people.
By Junior year, Quick Eye made the next step up by purchasing a newer Point & Shoot Sony camera with a menu screen on the back and a 1” screen in front, which enabled shot previews and easy Selfies with friends. She was the Photographer of the friend group in High School and still has all the archives of prints from that time. Even now, she tends to be the one to preserve memories of times with friends.
In 2012, she decided to make a name for herself and start her first Photography business to do band photography for live events. Within about a year as a budding professional Photographer, Quick Eye purchased her first dSLR. After much study and practice, she gained the courage to start using the camera at live events. The feedback from potential Clients as well as fellow Photographers was noticeably more positive once she began using this higher-quality equipment. She started attending shows at Casino Arizona, and befriended the Casino Photographer. She told him about her rising aspirations as a Professional Photographer, and he encouraged Quick Eye to bring her camera to a show to shoot alongside him. She eventually took him up on the offer, and he invited her to come back anytime to shoot more shows at the Casino. This opened the door for Quick Eye to shoot numerous shows in the in the Tribute Band scene.
Quick Eye Captures became the official name of the business in 2015. This name was inspired by compliments from Clients on her having a "good eye" or "quick eye". After moving to Washington State, she hit the ground running and found bands to work with right away. She booked Casino and theatre gigs with out-of-state bands and reunited with bands she had met at Casino Arizona. She continues to work with many other local Tribute bands, as well as touring original bands and cover bands. Quick Eye Captures has recently started experimenting with more posing, as well as a solo photo and video project with a character she is bringing to life: Project Adonis. This has inspired her to work more toward posing shots with others and teaming up with fellow Photographers to help her bring her visions to life. Quick Eye Captures strives to capture the split-second moments often missed in fast-paced shows, events, and performances. It has always been her goal since first picking up a camera, to preserve anything that holds value with diligent observation and mindfulness of what otherwise could be gone forever.
Photography freezes time for eternity, preserving moments that cannot be captured the same way in live video. You can never lose a memory with a Photograph.
